7月22日~25日に、佐渡自然共生国際実習が実施されました。新潟大学の学生に加え、海外の大学に所属する日本人学生や、国内の大学に在学する外国人留学生が参加し、所属や国籍のバラバラな学生同士での交流を深めました。せっかくの機会なので、今回の記事では英語と日本語の併記で進めてみたいと思います。
From July 22nd to 25th, the International Fieldwork Program for Ecological Sustainability in Sado Island was held. In addition to students from Niigata University, Japanese students enrolled in overseas universities and international students enrolled in universities in Japan participated, deepening exchanges among students from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. Since this is a valuable opportunity, I would like to proceed with this article in both English and Japanese.
初日は妙見山でのブナ林観察と、浮遊選鉱場の見学!佐渡での代表的な自然植生と史跡を回ることで、佐渡島の成り立ちや遍歴に思いを馳せました。
On the 1st day, we observed beech forests at Mt. Myoken and visited the Floating Ore Processing Plant in Sado Gold Mine! By touring Sado's representative natural vegetation and historic sites, we were able to contemplate the formation and history of Sado Island.
2日目午前は、新穂地区へ移動し、里山とトキ、そしてカエルのレクチャーを受けました。
On the morning of the 2nd day, we moved to the Niibo area and attended lectures on Satoyama, Japanese crested ibis, and frogs.

こちらは高津先生による里山の生き物とカエルの講義。
そして午後には、トキの野生復帰を目指して整備された環境保全型農地やビオトープに出向き、生物観察を行いました。
In the afternoon, we visited environmentally friendly farmland and biotopes that have been developed with the aim of returning the Japanese crested ibis to the wild, and observed the wildlife there.
トンボやメダカ、ザリガニなど、夏の日本の田んぼらしい生き物に出会えましたね。
We encountered creatures typical of Japanese rice paddies in summer, such as dragonflies, medaka fish, and crayfish.
そのあとには、トキのテラスにて望遠鏡でトキの観察も行いました。
とても暑かったにも関わらず、けっこうたくさんのトキが見れました。
After that, we observed Japanese crested ibis through a telescope at Toki Terrace.
Despite the intense heat, we were able to see quite a few Japanese crested ibis.
3日目には演習林に入り、天然スギをはじめとした森林、河川、自然草原などを回ることで、様々な植生やそれらの繋がりを観察しました。
On the 3rd day, we entered the Niigata University Forest and observed various vegetation and their connections by touring the forest, rivers, and natural grasslands, including natural cedar trees.
この日は最終日の夜ということで、懇親会も行われました。
お菓子や飲み物を囲んで、かなり話も弾んだようですよ!
Since it was the final night, a social gathering was also held. Everyone enjoyed snacks and drinks, and the conversation seemed to flow quite well!
最終日には、佐渡島最北端の景勝地"大野亀"を見学しました。見事な快晴ですね!
On the last day, we visited Ono Kame, a scenic spot at the northernmost tip of Sado Island. What a beautiful sunny day!
It was a great field trip where we were able to fully experience the natural environment of Sado Island! Seeing everyone's overreactions when they saw each scene was the most enjoyable part! Let's meet again in Sado!
